Understanding and Improving the Environment and Farming Techniques for better production.

We seek to improve knowledge regarding environmental factors and farming practices that control the production of phytopigments, terpenoids, sugars and related compounds in the drupe of various cultivars of the species mangifera indica (aka “the common mango”).

Analytics and Analysis

At DMS Analytical we utilize various analytical techniques (GC/LC-MS) and organoleptic analyses to determine the levels of various target compounds and correlate the resulting data to identify the most desirable organoleptic qualities and their associated “chemometrics”.

Manipulating the Future

Our Future research will explore the potential for manipulation of gene expression to obtain enhanced phytopigment/terpene production in this species.
